1. Behnken-Berger Award 2026 for Dr. Ines Butz

During the 57th Annual Meeting of the German Association for Medical Physics (DGMP), held from Sept. 16-19 2026 in Bamberg, the 1. Behnken-Berger Award for 2026 of the Behnken-Berger Foundation was awarded to Dr. Ines Butz for her PhD thesis entitled „Improving Relative Stopping power Calibration in X-ray Treatment Planning CT Using Sparse Proton Radiography" (https://edoc.ub.uni-muenchen.de/37081/1/Butz_Ines.pdf).
Ines's investigations on proton imaging have been carried out at our Chair of Medical Physics under the
supervision of PD Dr. Chiara Gianoli and Prof. Katia Parodi, in the framework of their project "HIGH ART"
(Hybrid ImaGing framework in Hadrontherapy for Adaptive Radiation Therapy), funded by the German Research
