The poster ‘Validation of 4D accumulated dose at a proton therapy CBCT scanner using MA-ROOSTER and a porcine lung phantom’, portraying the recent work of David Bondesson (Department of Radiology, University Hospital, LMU Munich) was awarded with the poster prize at the 4D Treatment Workshop for Particle Therapy 2019, held in Krakow from November 22nd to 23rd 2019.
The poster was presented by Dr. Christopher Kurz and describes an on-going study aiming at rendering in-room 4D CBCT data acquired with a proton gantry mounted imaging system suitable for accurate time-resolved proton dose calculation. The work is being performed under the umbrella of the University Hospital DFG project (4D cone beam computed tomography as a novel tool for accurate time-resolved dosecalculation in particle therapy). It is a collaborative effort between several researchers from LMU Munich (Departments of Radiation Oncology and Radiology at the University Hospital, and the Department of Medical Physics at the Faculty of Physics), the University of Lyon/CREATIS, IBA (Ion Beam Applications) and the University Medical Center Groningen, where the experiments have been carried out.
