JSPS Invitation Fellowship

06.04.2014

Katia Parodi has been granted a fellowship from the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) for a short-term research stay at the national Institute of Radiological Sciences (NIRS) in March 2014 upon invitation of Dr. Taiga Yamaya, who is a pioneer in the development of novel DOI (depth-of-interaction) detectors and the resulting concept of "openPET". This just concluded experience has started fruitful exchange between the two research groups in Munich and in Chiba, both aiming at novel detector solutions for range monitoring of not only conventional, but also radioactive (NIRS) and laser-driven (LMU) ion beams.
