Paper on collaborative work between UT Southwestern Medical Center and LMU selected as Highlights of 2017 in Physics in Medicine & Biology

The paper "Initial development of goCMC: a GPU-oriented fast cross-platform Monte-Carlo engine for carbon ion therapy", published in Physics and Medicine in Biology 62 (2017) 3682-3699 and describing the development of a novel GPU-based Monte Carlo engine for carbon ion therapy, pursued in a collaborative project between UT Southwestern Medical Center (Nan Qin, Zhen Tian, Arnold Pompos, Steve B. Jiang and Xun Jia) and LMU Munich (Marco Pinto, Georgios Dedes and Katia Parodi) with partial support of the Excellence Cluster MAP, has been selected as part of the Physics in Medicine and Biology Highlights of 2017.

According to the journal publisher, the Highlights are selected by the Editors and celebrate the quality and diversity of the papers that were published in 2017, providing a reflection of the most influential research published in PMB.
