Department Computational Infrastructure

The following computational resources are available at our Department:

Computer cluster:

- 12x Fujitsu PRIMERGY CX250:
    - 2x 8core Intel Xeon E5-2670 CPUs with 2.6GHz
    - 64 Gb RAM
- 4x Huawei_RH1288_VE
    - 2x 14 core Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5-2680 v4 @ 2.40GHz
    - 264 Gb RAM

Storage (All ZFS on linux now, no more Nexcenta):

- 48x2TB Disks in 4 shelves with 2 Server Heads (HA) (med3, med4)
- 40x2TB Disks + SSD cache in 1 shelve and one Server Head (med, med-clhome)
- 10x4T Disks integrated in Server (med2)
- 40x6T Disks + SSD cache connected to 2 Searver heads (HA) (med5)

All pools are configured as raidz2 (2-disk redundancy).

Snapshots are:

- Hourly, retention 1 day
- daily, retention 8 days
- weekly, retention 3 weeks

Weekly backups are stored at LRZ (tivoli). Retention time is 6 months. Archives are stored on request at LRZ+RZG. Retention time is 10 years, complying to DFG publication rules.
